My favorite movie of all time!

1. LA BAMBA

Remember this is a list of MY favorite movies! If you haven't seen it, its a good biographical movie about the rise of musician Richie Valens. Richie Valenzela was a Mexican American from California in the 60's that had a true love for music. He was discovered by an agent while playing at a local dance. He rose to stardom and was killed too soon in a plane crash which involved Buddy Holly, and The Big Bopper they call that day "the day the music died" Valens had to change his name at the time from Velenzuela to Valens so he would not sound "too Mexican" he turned the song La Bamba into a pop rock hit and it was the first time a song that was a traditional Mexican song was on the top 40's. This was a and big deal especially in the 60's and it opened the door for Hispanic artists. I love that story and the death of those 3 awesome musicians is one of the saddest moments in music history. BUT ...would I love the movie as much as I do without the character of "Bob" Richie's bum older brother? Probably not, sadly to some, he makes the movie for me! Bob is the main entertainment in the movie, he is Richie's alcoholic brother that loves Richie but has always sat back seat to Richie all his life and is quite jealous. I know to someone that is reading this, you may think it is ridiculous that I find humor in an alcoholic that is horrible to his "baby mama" but its hard to explain. I think Esai Morales did an excellent job in playing Bob because he is so believable. Bob is hilarious to me included is a video I found on youtube of some guys poking fun at the character of Bob and they nailed it!

However the greatest part of the movie is when Richie Valens plays La Bamba live in front of a New York audiencehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PK2HANwsUWg

2. FORREST GUMP

"my names Forrest, Forrest Gump" Truly one of the greatest movies all the time.Forrest Gump is a man who is not completely "there". He narrates his life from childhood through the most present. The movie is about a man's true innocence through life due to being born not as smart as others. I love the way the movie follows different periods of world history, the 60's, 70's, and 80's. It shows real issues such as racism and the effects of war. Through out Forrest's life he meets Jenni when he first starts school and is in love with her. Jenny is also completely lost in life due to events caused by her father and getting caught up in drugs. No matter Jenny's faults, Forrest will always love her. Another thing that I love about this movie is how that tied Forrest into major world events such as: teaching Elvis to dance, giving John Lennon the words and inspiration to the song "Imagine", being the cause to finding the Watergate scandal, being the American that tied China and the US together through ping-pong, inventing the phrase "shit happens", and being the man behind the famous smiley shirts. This is another long movie and again one you can watch every time it comes on TBS without getting tired of it. Its heartbreaking watching the movie depict assassinations of people during this time period and watching his mom die of cancer and Jenny die of HIV. There is humor and action in this movie as well. This movie has it all again including one of the most awesome soundtracks of all time! "and thats all I have to say about that"

3. BRAVEHEART
This movie is on a serious note, of course there things that are funny like the Irish guy and repeating quotes in a Scottish accent. But Braveheart is a beautiful movie with a truly great love story. Once again I've got to mention the soundtrack because that can really make a movie. The movie is loosely based on William Wallace and his fight to keep Scotland free from English takeover. The movie has action, love, and drama. This movie is almost 3 hours long and I can watch it again and again. This is one of the first movies that I cried like baby and embarrassed myself in front of a theatre packed full of people. The love story and giving your life for your countries chance at freedom are what make the movie very powerful. This is one of my longest movies however I am not going to go on and on about it. If you have not seen this movie, you are truly missing out. Some memorable quotes:
William Wallace: Every man dies, not every man really lives.
William Wallace: We all end up dead, it's just a question of how and why.
William Wallace: I love you. Always have. I wanna marry you.

Royal Magistrate: The prisoner wishes to say a word. William Wallace: [shouts loud and long] Freedom!

4. The 3 Amigos

I had to go with a comedy here and comedies are my favorite type of movie because I love to laugh! I had thousands to choose from and how do I make that decision? I went with the one that I can laugh from beginning to end and I can watch everyday. One of my favorite casts of all time: Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, and Martin Short. This movie is funny to me on a million different levels starting from the beginning when they are singing the "three amigo's" and they hold out their last note for a long time like Mariachi's do.

The movie is about 3 actors that lose work while in Mexico a small town was getting harrassed by a Mexican gang leader "El Guapo" a town woman saw a film of the three amigos and thought these were real guys and hires them to help them from El Guapo. They go to Mexico thinking their going to be on a big movie and dont realize its real until El Guapo has one of his gang men to shoot Lucky with a real bullet. They try and jet but El Guapo kidnaps the pretty Mexican girl and they return to save her! This movie is full of memorable quotes and laughs! It was made in the 80's and I cant count how many times I have seen it. This movie is a family favorite and I love it. Here are some of my favorite quotes:

Jefe: I have put many beautiful pinatas in the storeroom, each of them filled with little suprises. El Guapo: Many pinatas? Jefe: Oh yes, many! El Guapo: Would you say I have a plethora of pinatas? Jefe: A what? El Guapo: A *plethora*. Jefe: Oh yes, you have a plethora. El Guapo: Jefe, what is a plethora? Jefe: Why, El Guapo? El Guapo: Well, you told me I have a plethora. And I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone he has a plethora, and then find out that that person has *no idea* what it means to have a plethora. Jefe: Forgive me, El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education. But could it be that once again, you are angry at something else, and are looking to take it out on me?

Bartender: We don't have beer. Just tequila. Ned Nederlander: What's tequila? Bartender: Uh, it's like beer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlbLCNdaV2s

5. URBAN COWBOY

WHAT??? you say... Come on this is a really great movie. Either you love it or you hate it, and I for one LOVE IT! I actually think that the love story is greater than THE NOTEBOOK. Of course I'm kidding. But the acting is really good in this movie and the characters are so believable that you almost forget that the people you are watching fight like morons are Debra Winger and John Travolta! Might I add that you get to see John Travolta's awesome dancing skills in yet another movie and this time their Country Dancing Skills! That man can dance!

It's a movie about a boy from Spur, TX that is extremely competitive in life. He moves to Houston, TX and gets introduced to his first love which is a bar named Gilley's, he finds his second love which is mechanical bull and his third a bar regular named Sissy. Out of the 3 loves he chooses Sissy but not after challenging an ex con, cheating on her with a way classier girl and winning big in a bull riding contest!

Obviously I find a lot of hilarity in this movie and don't take it serious at all! Is that weird?

It starts getting funny when John Travolta's character "Bud" first starts to get jealous because Sissy was asking "Wes" if he was a real cowboy and after the bar they went to eat and "Wes" walks in and tips his hat to Sissy" and Bud goes insane! He takes it out on the waitress and tells her "my burgers still moving" and she asks "well what do you want me to do?" and he says "put it back on the fire!!" and throws the burger at the waitress..ahahahaha but instead hits "Wes" and gets his butt kicked. From there the comedy does not stop coming, they get in a fight and separate over who rides a mechanical bull better! Sissy moves into a trailer with Wes an ex con and Bud is still an idiot. I can tell you the whole movie or you can rent it but the important part is that in the end, Love prevails and Bud and Sissy reunite after Bud wins the big bull contest, "The Devil went down to Georgia" gets played, Wes gets his in the end, and Johnny Lee takes us out with "Looking for Love". NOTE: this is one of the best soundtracks in the history of movies! I guess the reason this movie is number 5 on my greatest movies of all time is because I can watch it a million times and never get tired of it!

My top 5 favorite movies

It seems like there are always new movies coming out these days and there are always previews that keep your mind wondering until you watch it! I however can never make it to the movies because I have no baby sitter and everyone hates that person that takes a baby into the theatre. I know I did so thats why I try hard not to do it. Since I stay home all the time I have to watch whats on payper view or the movies I have on DVD. So that left me thinking...what are my top 5 favorite movies? Most people wont have the same opinion and will think "what in the world is this girl thinking???" but they're My favorite movies and thats all that matters. I will give you explanations as to why they are my top 5!
